Now is the time to get out of the house and explore the great outdoors! The Heritage Corridor Region has plenty of wonderful outdoor activities for everyone in the family, check out some of our ideas below.

Skydive Chicago

Extreme adventure is waiting for you in Ottawa, at the Midwest’s world-class skydiving resort! Sign up for a tandem or solo jump and take in the beautiful views of the Fox River as you soar through the sky at 120 mph! After your jump, take a swim in the pond, relax at the sky lounge, or grab a bite at the Tiki Hut/Eat Up Café, all located on the Skydive Chicago property. Extend the fun  and stay for the entire weekend- cabins, camp sites and RV Sites are all available on property (make sure you reserve your spot early).

Buffalo Range Shooting Park

Ottawa

Whether you are looking to try something new, in need of some target practice, or an avid gun owner, there is a shooting range available for you. Buffalo Range Shooting Park provides a safe, family-friendly environment with seven different ranges and activities for different shooter experiences. Private events and lessons are also available.

Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area

Morris
Explore, fish, bird watch, and hunt at Morris’ Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area. Follow the Prairie View Trail to the highest point in Goose Lake and take in a panoramic view of reclaimed mine areas, prairies, and prairie marsh.For information about volunteering and caring for the natural area, check out the Prairie Partners website!

With over 16 different attractions and activities, everyone in your group will find their own adventure while staying cool.
