Independence Day Events in the Corridor

It's never too early to plan for the Fourth of July. A day filled with good food, family, friends, and, most important, fireworks! If you're still juggling between events and plans, here are a few suggestions for the upcoming holiday celebration. Whether you want to spend the Fourth watching sports, gazing at the fireworks, or listening to live music, there is always something to enjoy.

July 4th Concert & Fireworks - July 4th

The Village of Bolingbrook will be celebrating Independence Day on July 4th at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.

 

CHANNAHON, IL
Idependence Day Celebration - July 3th

Take a trip to Channahon to join their annual Independence Day Celebration! This event is a joint event between Village of Channahon, Channahon Park District, and the Three Rivers Public Library District. The concert in the park begins at 6PM and ends around 9:15PM with a fantastic firework display!

Dwight celebrates Independence Day every year with a fireworks celebration on July 4, regardless of the day of the week. Fireworks are launched from Garrett Park.

Joliet Slammers Fourth of July game - July 2th

Sit down and enjoy a classic game of baseball. Stay a little after to catch the post-game fireworks show. The Slammers will be playing against the Evansville Otters.

Joliet Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show - July 4th

The City of Joliet will host its elaborate fireworks display, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, returning to the Joliet Park District Memorial Stadium, located at 3000 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, 60435.

In Celebration of Independence Day, the City of Lockport will be hosting their annual fireworks show Monday, July 3rd at dusk in Dellwood Park. If weather doesn't permit, a makeup date will be announced. 

 

OTTAWA, IL
4th of July Fireworks - July 4th

Take a trip to Ottawa, IL, to view one of Central Illinois' largest light shows! This unique venue offers views from the high school bleachers to the bluffs along the Illinois & Fox Rivers, either on a boat or shore.

PERU, IL
Rock the River Fireworks - July 3rd

Rock the River in Peru on Monday, July 3rd! Listen live on 99.3FM for a fireworks show synchronized to music, please food vendors and kids fun! Trolleys will run in a continuous loop from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.

PONTIAC, IL
Independence Day Celebration - July 1st

Celebrate Independence Day in Pontiac, IL!

From 6 - 9 PM Second-Hand Soul Band will be performing, followed by the fireworks show at dusk (approximately 9:15 PM.)

From 5 - 8 PM the Elks Lodge 1019 concessions will be offering food and beverages for cash only**
66 Licks will have ice cream as well. Inflatables and lawn games will be available from 4:30 - 8:30 PM.

Balloon art by The Unique Twist and face paintings by Wild Style will be available from 4:30 – 7:30 PM.

The Pontiac Fire Department will also have educational displays, including the smoke trailer and other educational equipment.

As a reminder, outside alcohol will not be allowed on the premises.

*Swimming will not be available as the golf course pool is permanently closed*

Fireworks - July 3rd

Independence Day fireworks at Plainfield Central High School. The show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

 

ROMEOVILLE, IL
Fireworks - July 3rd

The Village of Romeoville will be celebrating Independence Day on July 3 with three fireworks shows. 

To allow residents to view these from their neighborhoods, fireworks will be shot off in three separate locations starting at 9:30 pm, effectively tripling the number of pyrotechnics that are usually displayed.

This two-day event will run from July 1st - 2nd. Aside from beautiful fireworks, this event will have many family-friendly activities, parades, a friendly atmosphere, and endless vendors.

Utica Fireworks - July 1st

Bring family and friends out to Carey Memorial Park to enjoy a night of fireworks, food and drink, face painting, bounce slides, obstacle courses, and more! Fireworks start at dusk.
