Heritage Corridor Ale Trail Breweries Win Big at 2023 World Beer Cup®!

Massive congratulations to Noon Whistle Brewing and Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling on their awards at the 2023 World Beer Cup® Awards in Nashville on May 10th!

The World Beer Cup® is “the most prestigious beer competition in the world, held annually in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America®.” Known as “the Olympics of Beer,” this year, an astounding 10,213 beers were entered into the competition by 2,376 breweries from 51 countries.

Noon Whistle Brewing took home a 1st place Gold Medal in the American-Style Amber Lager category for their beer BRUSKI. Noon Whistle describes Bruski as "a beautifully copper colored Traditional Lager. The malt makes this beer slightly sweet with toasted bready aromas and flavors that are balanced with saaz hops."

Pollyanna Brewing earned a 2nd place Silver Medal in the German-Style Bock or Maibock category for their beer NOSE OVER TAIL. As Pollyanna says in their Nose Over Tail description, "Literally translating to “May Bock” in German, Maibock is a strong lager traditionally consumed during the all too brief months that transition Winter to Summer. Meant for beer gardens everywhere, this beer is malt forward and silky smooth with just enough of a noble hop backing to balance the plethora of caramel and bread-like malts."

According to the World Beer Cup®, there are 111 different categories, but they don't automatically give out three awards per category. Only when the esteemed judges "determine that a category contains three excellent examples of the style, they present gold, silver, and bronze awards for the first, second, and third place beers, respectively."

Congratulations again to both breweries on this huge honor. Head out on the Ale Trail this weekend to try these award-winning brews!
