READ ON!NCI Artworks will be hosting an opening reception for the photgraphic work of Paula Guttila and Shanna Dugan, Friday, May 12 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM in the west wing of the Westclox buiding. This month long reception is free and welcome to all.
Paula Guttilla is a professional photgrapher who during her childhood, developed a love of nature and a talent for nature photography. Having transferred to the Illinois Valley, Guttilla refined her photography skills, eventually landing almong the top 10 photographer finalists of the 50,000 submissions to the Smithsonian Institute photography contest for her work entitled, "Dancing Tree, Altered." Many of her photographs have been featured in state, regional, and national magazines.
Shanna Dugan's photography can be seen as haunting and beautiful. Some of her work evoke the complexity and darkness of the objects, but captures the joy. Her photography is thought provoking and intense.
Both Paula and Shannon's work will be showcased at the gallery and available for purchase on the night of the opening recption. The will also be available on the NCI ARTworks website.
