The tour guide will talk about the history of Lemont limestone, the quarry industry and its workers, plus the construction and use of the I&M Canal. Historical photos of canal boats, quarry equipment and workers will be shown to give a sense of the hustle and bustle of the quarries and canal in its heyday. Tour is 3/4 mile on a crushed gravel/mulch trail with some inclines.
