Family Health & Fitness Day will be held on June 10, 2023! Celebrated the second Saturday in June each year, this special day promotes the importance of parks and recreation in keeping communities healthy and active.

Park and recreation agencies everywhere are encouraged to participate by sharing ways families can get active on June 10 — whether through participating in virtual programs at home or in their local parks. Members of the healthcare and public health communities are encouraged to participate, as well, even as sponsors.

The Family Health & Fitness day logo and outreach toolkit are now available! The toolkit offers research highlighting the health and wellness benefits of parks and recreation, as well as template press releases, social media materials, web and email communication templates, and a sample timeline for planning and implementation purposes. This year, the toolkit also includes a detailed evaluation section that can be used to measure the impact of your Family Health & Fitness Day activities and an opportunity to officially register your event with NRPA.
