World Migratory Bird Day: Morning Bird Hike

27064 S Dutton Rd Beecher, IL

Dates: May. 11, 2024
Times: 7am-9am
Location: Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve, 27064 S Dutton Rd, Beecher, IL

Celebrate birds on World Migratory Bird Day. While every day can be bird day, this day is celebrated to highlight migratory birds. Many birds migrate to and through our area. Some will stay and nest, while others just pass through headed for nesting grounds farther north. This makes it one of the best times of the year to look for birds.

Join us on this guided hike through the fields, woods and creeks of Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve to see how many birds we can find. All skill levels are welcome. This is a great way for beginners to find out about birds in our area and where they might be found.

Fee: Free! Age: Ages 16 and older. Registration is required by Friday, May 10, by calling 708-946-2216 or online . Dress to be outside, and bring your favorite field guide and binoculars.

The hike will be 1.5 miles to 2 miles long on paved and natural surfaced trails. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
