What is the “Blues Brothers Con” – This second annual event will again feature Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi reprising their iconic roles of “Elwood” and “Brother Zee”.
The Blues Brothers will headline a stacked lineup of iconic Chicago Blues performers featuring Ronnie Baker Brooks, Al Spears & The Hurricane Project, and Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials.
Blues Brothers fans can also expect a variety of experiences, appearances and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities throughout the day, as well as opportunities to tour the Prison site, which has expanded due to the Museum’s continued rehabilitation of the property funded by $10 million in State and Federal Grants.

Will there be food and drink available? – Yes, there will be a variety of food trucks, a beer/beverage tent, plus water and other beverages for sale. If you intend to drink alcohol, please remember to bring a valid state-issued I.D. or driver’s license.
Where is the entrance into the Old Prison for the event? – Main entry point is the old “sally port” entrance gate facing Collins St., located about halfway along the east wall of the prison parallel to Collins St. Festival personnel will be there to greet you! Drop-off and pick-up will not be allowed along Collins Street or near this entrance. A designated drop-off and pick-up area, including for ride share arrangements, is shown on the parking map.
Drop off and Pick-up and Ride-share – The loading zone for drop-off and pick-up as well as rideshare / taxi transportation services is located in the Old Joliet Prison lot immediately to the south of the main prison building. Drop-off and pick-up will not be allowed along Collins Street or near the “old sally port” entrance.
Will tickets be available at the door? – Yes, while available. But purchasing in advance will guarantee your entry!
Can I leave the event and re-enter later in the day? – No
Can I bring a chair? – Yes! The event will be held inside the prison yard, so you can bring bag chairs and/or a blanket as all seating is on the prison lawn area.
Can I bring an umbrella? – Yes, personal umbrellas are fine (but please be courteous of other guests and their sightlines).
What about coolers? – No coolers allowed. Food and beverages are available for purchase inside the fest. Small purses or bags/backpacks for blankets, jackets, etc. are allowed, but will be checked at the gate.
Can I bring my dog or pet? – Sorry, no pets, other than designated service animals.
No Weapons allowed! – Absolutely no weapons will be allowed *This includes “Concealed Permit Holders”*
What’s the bathroom situation? – There will be port-a-potties and hand wash stations set up throughout the prison yard.
Is the event family friendly? – Yes, families are welcome! There will be various activities, vendor areas, Bluesmobile demonstrations, & more.
Can I tour the Old Joliet Prison? – Yes, there will be designated areas within the prison grounds for guests to view.
Will merchandise be available? – Yes, they’ll be selling exclusive Blues Brothers Con merchandise!
What if it rains? What if the weather is severe? – Being a rain or shine event, every attempt will be made to complete the show. If severe weather approaches, patrons may be asked to return to their vehicles until the weather passes and emergency weather guidelines will be followed.
