Heritage Corridor Home to Three of the Top Ten Public Golf Clubhouses in Chicagoland, Including the Region’s Number One

I’m sure we all can’t wait for the days when all the snow is gone, the sun is out, and the weather is warm enough to enjoy being outside again.

Golfing has become more and more popular over the years and easy to involve anyone, whether you are a professional or beginner.  No matter if you came to play the game or to hang out, golf course clubhouses do a great job including everyone in-between in their experience.

There’s so many golf courses around the area, so how do you choose which ones to go to?

Chicago’s Golf Report has produced a “Top-10 Public Course Clubhouses” in the Chicagoland area, focusing on the effect and the influence a clubhouse has on everyday golfers before, during, and after the round.

Here are the three golf courses in our area that has made it on this year’s list:

#7: Ruffled Feathers Golf Club – Lemont

Opening back in 1992, this golf course was listed “Best New Courses in America” in Golf Digest and Golfweek for 1992. The “modern Tudor” exterior of the 30,000-square-foot clubhouse exudes a warm, calming and inviting feeling, while the interior maintains its every nook with comfort and style.

#4: Mistwood Golf Club – Romeoville

Opening up back in 2016, they went through 2 multi-million dollar construction efforts in order to have the completed project which stands today. The building properly serves all needs for their golfing customers and are divided into three parts – the golf shop, the clubhouse, and performance center.

#1 Bolingbrook Golf Club – Bolingbrook

Opening day was in May of 2003 and this 76,000-square-foot clubhouse was designed by Peter Kramer who has designed more than 100 clubhouses. This one in Bolingbrook ranks as the largest public golf course in the state of Illinois.

You can check out the full list here from Chicago Golf Report to see all the other clubhouses that made it on the list. Plan your visit once the weather warms up, so that you can experience a full day on the course!
