READ ON!Save some gas and hop on the Metra to explore the Heritage Corridor region this summer! The Metra will be offering special services to the Heritage Corridor Line in Joliet, for ten consecutive Saturdays starting July 2nd through September 3rd,2022. The stops along the way will also include Lemont, Romeoville, and Lockport.
This new service will be called “Rails, Trails and Ales,” and will provide three round-trip trains each Saturday, equipped with Metra’s new bike cars to make it easier to carry your bikes from one place to the next. The train will take off from Chicago Union Station at 10:30 AM, 4:15 PM and 8 PM all the way to Joliet area and will depart from Joliet, 8 AM, 1:45 PM and 6:30 PM back to the Union Station.
This is a great opportunity for those in Chicago and nearby areas to explore outside of Chicago to experience new breweries, restaurants, shops, and trails. Also, great for those in the Joliet area to take a day trip to the city and explore.
