A mid-1800’s architectural wonder helped make Chicago the city it is today. The 96-mile Illinois & Michigan Canal (I&M Canal) connected the Great Lakes in Bridgeport, Chicago to the Illinois River at LaSalle-Peru, and amazingly unique towns sprung up that maintain their authentic charm to this date.

The German Horizon Black Horizon has a great Munich Dunkel that you all should try. Only water, hops, yeast, and barley - brewed 100% in accordance with the German purity law (Reinheitsgebot). It's a lightly toasted and subtly caramel lager, great for pairing with food. |
Climbing the Ladder of Carnage Two great beers in the first-ever four packs from Mad Hatchet Brewing. Jason's Ladder is truly a tasty cream ale, definitely a winner. For a different but still awesome taste, try Summer Camp of Carnage. It'll make you think Summer is here. I mean, it's supposed to be 50 degrees out on Saturday! |

Pils Four simple letters, and a quality taste. Goldfinger Brewing Company's Pils is back for everyone's enjoyment. They do pour this beer over five minutes, because a beer this good is meant to be enjoyed at its peak. Trust me, it's worth it. |
Groovy, Baby Man of Mystery is now at Will County Brewing. It's a West Coast IPA with Citiva Hops. Notes of stone fruit, peach, and lime - moderate bitterness level. Make it like the movies, order up a trilogy. (The second Austin Powers was the best in my opinion ... in case you all were wondering. I'm sure you weren't. |

You'll Go Nose Over Tail for This Beer Nose Over Tail is a beer perfect for outside drinking, and a sign that the weather is changing for the good when Pollyanna Brewing Co releases this beer. This Maibock Lager is malt forward, silky smooth, and just enough of a noble hop backing. A great balance of caramel and bread-like malts. The beer weighs in at 7.0% ABV and will be on tap and in cans. PS. Try to ignore the piled-up snow in the background of the photo. |
Super Fresh Lexical Gap Some freshly canned Lexical Gap, Pollyanna's Flagship West Coast IPA, just showed up and is ready for you to take home. It's a 7.3% West Coast IPA that has been on the menu since 2014. Why has it been on the menu that long? It's that good. |

A New Coffee Stout at Hickory Creek Brewing Co. Hickory Creek Brewing partnered up with their in-town neighbors, Cal's Coffee, in New Lenox. Their coffee stout collab uses Cal's Guatemalan Coffee. This is a natural collab, as both Hickory Creek and Cal's share the same level of high passion for their respective drinks ... I can't wait to try this beer. |

This Beer is a Welcomed Addition New Town in Brown is the latest from Rt66 Old School Brewing. Appropriately 6.6% ABV (in theory, all of their beers should be 6.6% ABV - get your kicks!), it's a roasty, caramel, and chocolate beer. Head brewer Pauly won an award for this one, and you'll know why after the first sip. |
An Imperial Beer A beer over 18 months in the making, Friday is the day that Barrel-Aged Owlbear awakes from its slumber. The tastes of maple and coffee bean pair up with the flavors from its Four Roses bourbon barrel hibernation result in an 11% imperial breakfast stout. Are you ready? This one will be top-notch. |
Wool Socks and Flip Flops The name is reminiscient of the feelings of this week, driving around with the windows down and the temps feeling like they are 20 degrees warmer than they truly are. Wool Socks and Flip Flops is the latest from Nik & Ivy Brewing. Caramel and molasses notes on this Scottish Export Ale. |
An Old Favorite Breer in an Old Favorite City Cream ales were brewed first in the mid 1800's. Lockport was founded in 1853. So, Nik & Ivy Brewing released 1853. This is a great cream ale that is light and crisp. Smooth vanilla flavor and aroma. And just enough hops to remind you that you're drinking a beer. |
