READ ON!On Saturday, June 3, 2021, take part in the 37th Annual Cabin Festival at Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area. This day was created to honor the pioneers who moved into the area in the 1830s.
From 10 AM to 3 PM, gather your family and enjoy a full day of fun for free! Witness authentic pioneer crafts done by the Prairie Partners & Friends as they re-enact in authentic dress. Visit the Cragg Cabin history exhibit and the prairie life presentations which may include:
You can also stick around to check out the rest of the park amenities such as the butterfly barn, hiking & flower walks, picnic in the park, visitors center museum and gift shop, and wagon rides to the cabin.
If you get hungry after all the activities, the Prairie Partner Food Tent will serve Buffalo Burgers, Brats & Hotdogs, drinks, chips & snacks for purchase. Enjoy a weekend filled with rich history and family fun!
