Princeton & Utica Named Best Small Towns In Illinois For A Weekend Escape

We're thrilled to announce that both Princeton & Utica, IL have made the World Atlas list of best small towns in Illinois for a weekend escape! Though we know better, they call these destinations "undiscovered gems." The towns featured boast vibrant downtown scenes and access to the same level of recreation and relaxation you can find in a big city.

"North Utica, often referred to as just Utica, is a lovely town in north-central Illinois, well-known for its scenic surroundings and outdoor pursuits. Several state parks, notably Starved Rock State Park and Matthiessen State Park, are nearby the town and provide excellent hiking and camping options.

The Illinois River, which flows through Utica and provides fantastic chances for boating and fishing, is one of the town's major attractions. A scenic drive down the neighboring Illinois River Road, which gives stunning views of the river and the surrounding countryside, is another option for visitors. The Hegeler Carus House and the Reddick Mansion are two nearby historical attractions that are great for outdoor activities and learning more about the town's lengthy history."
